Account deletion

Delete your account and data.

You can delete your Debriefr account at any time, directly in the app or by writing to us. Here is exactly what happens.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Replace every [SQUARE BRACKETS] value with your real details and confirm the in-app navigation path matches the shipped build before publishing.

Delete from within the app

The fastest route, and the one that takes effect immediately:

  1. Open Debriefr and go to Settings
  2. Tap Account
  3. Tap Delete account
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE, then tap Delete permanently

You will be signed out on every device as soon as the deletion is confirmed.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email [PRIVACY_EMAIL] from the address associated with your account, with the subject line "Account deletion request". We verify identity before acting, and we complete verified requests within [DELETION_SLA] and no later than 30 days.

Export your data first

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want to keep your transcripts and analyses, export them before you delete: Settings → Account → Export my data. You will receive a [EXPORT_FORMAT] archive of your sessions, transcripts, and analyses.

What gets deleted

  • Your account profile, name, and email address
  • All audio recordings you have created
  • All transcripts and dialogue turns
  • All AI analyses, summaries, decisions, action items, and insights
  • Your session history and cross-session memory
  • Your workspace memberships and sharing settings
  • Authentication credentials and active sessions

Deletion propagates to our backups within [RETENTION_BACKUP], after which the data is unrecoverable.

What we are required to keep, and for how long

A narrow set of records survives deletion because the law requires it:

  • Billing and tax records — invoices and payment records for [RETENTION_BILLING], as required by tax and accounting legislation
  • Security and abuse logs — retained for [RETENTION_SECURITY_LOGS] where needed to protect the Service
  • Records of your deletion request — retained to demonstrate compliance with Law 25 and the GDPR

These records are minimized, access-restricted, and are not used to rebuild your profile.

If you are part of a Team or Enterprise workspace

Sessions you shared into a shared workspace may belong to your organization rather than to you personally. Deleting your personal account removes your profile and your private sessions; content owned by the organization is governed by that organization’s agreement with us. Your workspace administrator can tell you which sessions are organization-owned, and you can contact us to clarify.

Cancel your subscription separately

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through the Apple App Store, because Apple manages that billing relationship. Cancel it in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device to avoid further charges. Subscriptions purchased directly from us are cancelled automatically when the account is deleted.

Your other privacy rights

Deletion is one of several rights available to you. You may also request access to, correction of, or portability of your information — see the Privacy Policy for the full list and how to exercise it.
